We are happy to announce that the First Water Reuse Days are here!
The organization of Water Reuse Days is one of the major action of the FIT4REUSE project with the aim of bringing together stakeholders and wider public from different Mediterranean countries in contact with FIT4REUSE project. Moreover, Water Reuse Days will establish a fruitful dialogue and exchange of opinions about the main social, economic and environmental barriers or opportunities for the wider utilization of non-conventional water resources in agricultural sector and for aquifer recharge. Initially planned as a physical event, due to the COVID-19 pandemics, the First Water Reuse Days are implemented in 3 steps:
In the first step, separate meetings will be held with national stakeholders from countries participating in the project. The proposed FIT4REUSE solutions for selected areas that are facing challenges regarding the utilization and management of water resources will be presented and analyzed during these meetings. In addition, the expected social, environmental and economic impacts that the implementation of these solutions may have in the selected areas will be discussed in depth with the stakeholders. In the second step, a Webinar will be organized to compare the main findings of the discussions held in local meetings. Finally, the third step of the First Water Reuse Days will be within Ecomondo, on the 5th of November 2020. During the event, the current state of water reuse in the consortium countries and the Multi-stakeholder platform will be introduced to the wider public. Also, in the event emphasis will be given on the status of the Water Reuse Risk Management Plan, one of the major outcomes of FIT4REUSE.
