The third Water Reuse Day – also a final event of the FIT4REUSE project, was a 2 day event, held on November 23rd and 24th 2022 in Bologna, Italy. Water Reuse Day gathered researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, experts and policymakers with a genuine interest in water-related issues to discuss the most pressing challenges in Europe.
See key-note talks by Attilio Toscano (University of Bologna), Marco Orlando (PRIMA), Faycel Chenini (FAO), Luigi Rizzo (Salerno University) and Adriano Batilanni (Irrigants d’Europe), two round tables and a panel discussion with panellists Attilio Toscano (University of Bologna), Carmen Galindo (EIT Food), Marco Orlando (PRIMA), Faycel Chenini (FAO), Atef Jauani (University of Tunis El Manar), Simos Malamis (National Technical University of Athens), Remi Declercq (Ecofilae) and Antonia Lorenzo (Bioazul).
Presentations, focusing on the main results of the FIT4REUSE project were grouped in 3 pilars:
First pillar, highlighting Innovative solutions for wastewater treatment and desalination has been moderated by Tadej Stepišnik Perdih (National Technical University of Athens) and included presentations by Atef Jauani (University of Tunis El Manar), Evridiki Barka (National Technical University of Atehns), Francesco Fatone (Marche Polytechnic University), Sarit Bason (Mekorot) and Özlem Karahan Özgün (ITUNOVA).
Stevo Lavrnić (University of Bologna) moderated the second pillar on the Use of treated municipal wastewater and desalinated water for irrigation and aquifer recharge, with presentations by Roy Elkayam (Mekorot), Remi Declercq (Ecofilae), Rafael Casielles and Francesco Fatone (Marche Polytechnic University).
Finally, the third pillar on the Assessment and regulation of water reuse, was moderated by Viola Benedetti (ISPRA) and had presentations by Viola herself, Antonia Lorenzo(Bioazul), Remi Declercq (Ecofilae) and Valentina Guerrieri (UNIBO).
